RoCo show

If you get a chance to head out to Rochester Contemporary between now and January 17th you can see one of my paintings in the annual member's exhibition along with many other pieces by some of my friends and former teachers. The cost is only $1.00 for non-members.

This is actually pretty exciting as it is the first time I have had something in an art show since college (aside from 6x6...but that was anonymous).

recent

Old Victorian photographs\portraits have always held a special place in my heart. Coincidentally, and fortunately, animal\human hybrids have always been a staple as well.

I have started a series of 5"x7" paintings influenced by Victorian portraiture and literature as well as a child like curiosity.

I layer water soluble oil pastels and acrylic paint, which I have found makes for a neat texture. I found the frame at Hobby Lobby, which is probably the worst place to look for art supplies but has pretty decent and inexpensive frames. I hope to find some antique frames soon, as I have become quite excited about antiquing lately...

I will post these as I continue to make them.
